About:	Hospice of New York provides services to persons with life expectancies of 6 months or less who are no longer pursuing aggressive treatment. Patients can receive RN and SW visits, limited home health aide care, diagnosis-related equipment and medications, clergy and volunteer visits and, at times, limited PT. Bereavement counseling is also available. Costs are covered by Medicare or most insurances. We provide care at home, in nursing homes, and in assisted living facilities. "Inpatient" hospice can briefly cover hospital or nursing home costs under certain circumstances. Our mission is to provide loving comfort care, quality of life, and dignity near the end of life. We cover Nassau, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, and Brooklyn counties.
